Summary

Albert Chamomile is a chain-smoking, perverted ermine known for stealing lingerie, a trait that serves as a callback to typical manga male stock character archetypes. Despite having a long, prehensile tail, he is not a human transformed by magic; rather, he is a unique type of elf, fairy, or Cait Sith, a lineage he takes great pride in. The punishment of being turned into an ermine is actually a disciplinary measure used at Negi’s magic academy, but Chamo’s condition stems from his species, not a spell. Negi freed him from a trap when the boy was just five years old, establishing a bond where Chamo has since sought out Negi whenever he encountered trouble. Chamo holds a strong affection for Negi and will fight to protect him, yet he is not above exploiting the young mage for personal gain. His primary scheme involves attempting to establish probationary contracts between Negi and his students, a process that nets him 50,000 Ermine Dollars per contract.
