Canti
Summary
Canti is a medical robot produced by Medical Mechanica who was seized by Atomsk to facilitate an escape from the organization. After Haruko shattered his television-like head, she recruited him as an assistant, though his contributions were largely limited to domestic chores like washing dishes and fetching drinks. It was later revealed that Atomsk could manifest through him, with Naota serving as the catalyst. When Atomsk absorbed Naota, a symbol appeared on Canti’s screen: a corrupted version of the kanji for "adult." This same symbol appeared when Naota performed the "swings the bat" action in Full Swing. During his absorption by the terminal core in FLCLimax, a similar symbol appeared, but this time it used the kanji for "child." Despite his mechanical appearance, Canti displays very human-like emotions. He is deeply embarrassed by his broken head and the box attached to the back of it, both remnants of the shame he feels after Haruko hit him. He actively seeks the broken pieces to glue his head back together in episode two. His politeness is evident in how he extends a helping hand to Lieutenant Kitsurubami even after she attempted to destroy him. Canti also wears a halo and fake wings, items originally worn by Haruko in early episode two. Mamimi believes Canti is an angel and addresses him as Lord Canti, a title derived from a video game character called "The God of Black Flames." The rest of the cast continues to use this title throughout the series. Additionally, he appears capable of eating curry with his "mouth," although the mechanics of this remain unexplained. No voice actors have been assigned to this character.
