Summary
Despite being the same age as his peers, Makoto Kurita possesses the most youthful spirit within Class 5-3. Initially, he is the most emotionally fragile student, prone to fleeing from any frightening occurrences. However, under the guidance of Nube and with the support of his friends, he gradually learns to confront his fears and mature. His greatest asset is his kind and friendly demeanor, which helps him stay cheerful despite threats from both humans and youkai. Nevertheless, he remains the most childlike of Nube’s students, not only in his small stature and desire to "grow up," but also in his fondness for juvenile hobbies such as keeping pets and watching sentai series, particularly Chou Kiken Sentai Kakukaku Ranger, a parody of Ninja Sentai Kaku Ranger. Although he shares poor academic performance with Hiroshi and Katsuya, he genuinely strives to improve himself. His name and character design are inspired by the Kazuo Umezu manga series Makoto-chan.
