Lucifer, Vali

Summary

Vali Lucifer, a half-Devil and half-Human descendant of the original Lucifer, serves as the leader of the Khaos Brigade's Vali Team. He possesses the Longinus Sacred Gear Divine Dividing, which houses the spirit of the Vanishing Dragon, the White Dragon Emperor Albion. This makes him the direct rival of Issei Hyoudou and Ddraig. Abandoned by his parents who viewed him as a monster, Vali wandered until Azazel found him and brought him to the Underworld, where he was raised and trained. He first appeared in volume 3, tasked by Azazel to defeat Kokabiel. In volume 4, during the peace treaty between the Three Factions, Vali betrayed Azazel and joined the Khaos Brigade. He engaged Issei in battle, initially underestimating him but growing interested when Issei overwhelmed him despite Vali holding back. The fight ended abruptly when Bikou appeared and ordered Vali to retreat. Vali wields Divine Dividing, which halves the power of opponents upon contact, operating in opposition to Issei's Boosted Gear. He can absorb this drained power to enhance his own strength, a feat that contributed to Kokabiel's defeat. His Balance Breaker, Divine Dividing Scale Mail, resembles Issei's but is white and features Dragon wings. The gear also utilizes "Half Dimension" to halve the size of objects and living beings. In volume 12, Vali achieved the Empireo Juggernaut Overdrive, changing his armor to silver. Like Issei's Cardinal Crimson Promotion, this form does not consume his lifespan. In this state, he employs "Compression Divider," an enhanced Half Dimension that constantly halves a target until they vanish. As a descendant of the original Lucifer, Vali possesses immense demonic power, allowing him to control his Juggernaut Drive using demonic energy instead of his lifespan, though prolonged use risks driving him berserk. He is also highly talented in magic, quickly mastering Norse Magic.
