Summary
Captain Nezumi is a corrupt Marine officer stationed at the 16th Branch in the East Blue. Named after the Japanese word for mouse or rat, he possesses a rodent-like appearance and mannerisms, alongside an arrogant personality. He accepts bribes from Arlong to allow the Fishman pirate to operate discreetly. Following a tip from Arlong, Nezumi discovers and confiscates the treasure Nami had saved to buy back Cocoyashi Village. After Arlong’s defeat, Nezumi tries to intervene against the Straw Hat Pirates but is swiftly defeated and forced to return the stolen funds. His report to his superiors leads to the Marines issuing Luffy his first bounty. He first appears in Chapter 69 and Episode 31.
