Summary
Kitane was a member of the Twelve Guardian Ninja during his lifetime. A decade prior to the series' beginning, he joined Asuma Sarutobi, Chiriku, Nauma, Tōu, and Seito in suppressing a coup d'état launched by six of their fellow ninja. During the conflict, Kitane and three other users of lightning chakra attempted to unleash Limelight on Kazuma, but he was ultimately killed by Kazuma in the ensuing confrontation. Kitane, along with Nauma, Tōu, and Seito, was recognized as one of the era's most skilled practitioners of lightning chakra. His combat style mirrored Asuma’s, blending exceptional taijutsu with elemental affinity using a unique weapon. He wielded a three-part metal staff that conducted his lightning-based attacks and could be driven into the ground to send electricity through the earth. By separating the staff into three pieces, he could perform Lightning Release: Thunder Binding to create a barrier around a target. Furthermore, when positioned in one of the four cardinal directions, he could combine his efforts with Nauma, Tōu, and Seito to cast Limelight, an ability capable of reducing everything in a specific area to ash.
