Summary
Shunran is one of four siblings devoted to resurrecting their master, the leader of the Cat Family. Her abilities include casting illusions, and she is joined in this mission by her siblings Shuuran, Karan, and Touran. Motivated by a desire for revenge against the sons of the Dog General for what they did to the Panther King, she appears with other panthers around the time InuYasha is sealed to a tree. Fifty years later, the panther tribe returns targeting the priestess Kagome, who possesses the jewel shards. While the other panthers capture her, Toran challenges Sesshomaru to a battle within a castle occupied by the panther tribe and surrounded by a barrier. As the moon passes over their master's corpse, Shunran gathers the villagers, Kagome, Miroku, Sesshomaru, and the sacred jewel shards before their leader. When the Dog General's sons arrive, the Panther King demands souls and kills both Shuran and Karan. After the Panther King is killed a second time, the other panther divas are revived by Sesshomaru's sword, and the panther tribe returns to their home.
