Summary
Ninjin, whose name translates to Carrot in English due to its Japanese meaning, is a nine-year-old character with hair that resembles the vegetable and covers his eyes. When surprised, his eyes pop out from behind his hair, and he has freckles on his face. He previously served as a member of Usopp's Pirates before Usopp joined the Straw Hat Pirates. Ninjin wields a frying pan as his weapon and harbors a dream of opening a bar when he grows up. This ambition was altered in different adaptations: the 4Kids version stated he wanted to open a vegetable restaurant, while the English version of One Piece: Unlimited Adventure suggested he aimed to open a nightclub. He was voiced by Kate Oxley in the Funimation Dub and made his first appearance in Chapter 23 and Episode 9.
