Yoshida, Luigi

Yoshida, Luigi

Summary

Luigi Yoshida, a twenty-six-year-old midfielder and forward standing 186cm tall, plays for East Tokyo United wearing jersey number 10. Of half-Japanese and half-Italian heritage, he is known to his teammates as Gino, the name on his shirt, and the "Prince" due to his ingenious playmaking and narcissistic attitude. He has a fondness for Maserati cars. On the field, Gino utilizes Akasaki as his Zakki and Tsubaki as his Bakki, forming an effective trio despite Akasaki’s sarcastic retorts regarding Gino’s ego, while Tsubaki remains in complete awe of his skills. Although Gino was always central to East Tokyo United’s offense, he only reached his full potential under the guidance of Tatsumi. During a friendly against Tokyo Victory, Goto observed that Gino had shifted from avoiding the ball to acting as a true playmaker, a change Gino attributed to finding Tatsumi’s tactics fun. This shift may also be linked to his interactions with teammates; he only began noticing Akasaki during camp when the forward started standing up to Kuroda, and he claims to enjoy sending passes to Tsubaki. Gino has significant issues with Natsuki, often withholding passes due to Natsuki’s poor ball-stealing ability and selfish shooting style, which disrupts the game’s flow. This behavior causes consternation for Natsuki, who relies on assists. Tatsumi explains that Gino refuses to pass to Natsuki because he views every ball sent to a forward as a precious resource poured into by teammates, making him unwilling to waste it on someone who does not respect the collective effort.
