Summary
Hyunckel’s life was defined by tragedy when his parents perished in a monster attack, only for one of the beasts to adopt and raise him as its own son. A deep-seated resentment towards Avan took root after Avan killed Hadlar; upon discovering his adoptive father’s corpse, Hyunckel falsely believed Avan was the murderer. He subsequently became Avan’s first student, but upon graduation, he attempted to assassinate his teacher using Bloody Scraid, a technique of his own invention, which failed. Hyunckel was then taken in by Myst-Vearn and trained to become the General of the Immortal Army, one of the six primary forces under the command of Hadlar and Vearn. His allegiance shifted after he uncovered the truth that Hadlar, not Avan, had killed his adoptive father, leading him to join Dai’s party. Originally wielding Amudo, a demon magic sword capable of transforming into armor, Hyunckel lost the weapon when Dai broke it during the fight against Baran. He since uses a spear with identical properties, crafted by the same artisan. Hyunckel possesses mastery over all basic Avan techniques, including Demon Puppet Grab, which he learned from Myst-Vearn. Transitioning from a sword to a spear required him to adapt Avan’s elemental techniques to his new weapon, learning Thundering Ground Flash, Echoing Sea Flash, and Sky Flash, which correspond to the Earth, Sea, and Sky Slashes respectively. His most powerful move is Grand Cross, a massive attack that channels his entire life energy into a single, cross-shaped strike.
