Summary
Shugo’s twin sister, Rena, serves as the gateway to The World, the MMORPG where the narrative unfolds. She gifted Shugo his avatar after winning a pair of rare hero-themed costumes in a contest that her brother, Aura, rigged to ensure her victory. Rena plays as a chibi version of the Black Rose avatar, assigning the other form to Shugo. Her class is Heavy Blade, a fitting choice for her headstrong personality. Driven by a deep desire to reunite her fractured family and see Shugo become a hero, she constantly demands that he rescue her in-game. Beyond her gameplay, she narrates the next episode previews by sharing special event information. In A.I. Buster 2, it is revealed that Rena previously played a Blademaster named Bridgit before adopting the Black Rose persona. While Black Rose is her login name, her actual character name is Rena.
