Summary
Ushiwakamaru, who serves as a Rider-class Servant, was first summoned by Ritsuka Fujimaru during the Grand Orders of Fate/Grand Order. She also appears in Fate/Requiem, where she is called forth by Rurihime following the conclusion of the Holy Grail War. Widely recognized by her adult name, Minamoto no Yoshitsune, she holds the distinction of being one of the most celebrated military commanders in Japanese history, with her fame arguably rivaled only by figures like Oda Nobunaga. Despite her legendary status, significant aspects of her early life remain shrouded in mystery, particularly the period before she raised an army. As a Rider-class Servant, Ushiwakamaru is a swordsman of exceptional talent who harbors deep affection for her older brother, Minamoto no Yoritomo. She views him with immense respect as a samurai and cherishes him as family, often declaring him to be the most exemplary older brother in the world, despite her efforts to remain modest. In her youth, she was known for her mischievous nature, frequently playing pranks on adults and troubling monks with laughter. While she has matured and now conducts herself properly, her love for fun remains a core part of her personality. During the Seventh Singularity: Babylonia, Ushiwakamaru serves under Gilgamesh alongside Servants such as Musashibou Benkei, Leonidas, and Merlin. Her primary duty involves hunting the Demonic Beasts that threaten Uruk. This constant defensive role is so demanding that she is rarely able to accompany Ritsuka on external investigations. In the events of Fate/Requiem, Ushiwakamaru is the Servant of Rurihime, who affectionately refers to her as Shana. She works part-time at a stall selling tempura manju at Yushima Tenmanguu, a shrine operated by Rurihime’s family. She also competes in the Holy Grail Tournament as part of a team featuring Barbarossa and Jacques de Molay. Although the emcee Circe introduces her by the name Minamoto Kurou Yoshitsune, she feels uneasy when the crowd cheers for "Ushiwaka," eventually acknowledging them by waving.
