Izumo no, Okuni
Summary
Izumo no Okuni stands as Japan’s premier informant, harboring an obsessive devotion to Kyo so intense that she finds joy even in his hatred. Although she initially joined the Juunishinshou as Indara II, she readily sacrifices herself for Kyo, eventually aligning with his team to help recover his true body. While she possesses extensive knowledge regarding Kyo, Kyoshiro, and Sakuya, she remains tight-lipped, offering only cryptic hints. Following the group's separation, she traveled to Kyoto, where she encountered Akira and proposed trading her life for Kyo’s physical form. Instead of killing her, Akira tasked her with infiltrating Mibu territory to gather intelligence, promising to protect Kyo in the interim. During the Mibu arc, Okuni briefly appeared after successfully breaching the Mibu lands. She was intercepted by Taihaku, leading to a brief skirmish in which she revealed her weapon, Tekogen. The fight ended not with victory, but when Taihaku ordered her to cease combat and allowed her to escape. Reuniting with her allies in a wounded state, she reported that Kyo’s body was in Taishiro’s possession. As the group divided into four factions, she advanced alongside Sasuke to confront the Juunishinshou. She witnessed Sasuke battle his former friend Makora and the genuine Indara. Upon seeing Makora’s brutal death at Indara’s hands, she wept, recalling Makora’s comparison of Mibu creations to fireworks: beings that burn brightly and fight fiercely despite their short existence. Following this, she departed from Sasuke to resume her intelligence gathering. Okuni’s role remained relatively minor during the Mibu arc until the final battle. Acting on Yukimura’s request, she led a substantial reinforcement force comprising the Tokugawa, Date, and Sanada armies, with Anri, Ieyasu Tokugawa, and Nobuyuki Sanada joining the effort.
