Summary
Mursili, the third prince of the Hittite empire and the son of King Suppililiuma and Queen Hinti, the second Tawananna, plays a pivotal role in Yuri’s journey. At the series' outset, he encounters Yuri fleeing from guards and grants her the ability to understand and speak their language through a kiss. Intrigued by her unique nature, which sets her apart from any woman he has known, he vows to help her return to Japan, even as he grapples with his own deepening affection for her. To shield her from the machinations of Queen Nakia, the third Tawananna, he initially claims Yuri is his concubine and the incarnation of Ishtar. This deception eventually takes on a life of its own, with the legend of Yuri as Ishtar spiraling beyond his control. Although he remains steadfastly loyal to those he cherishes, Mursili is frequently in conflict with his stepmother, Queen Nakia. A formidable sorcerer, he possesses the power to manipulate wind and air, making him one of the rare individuals capable of countering Nakia’s magical spells.
