Summary
Suiseiseki is the third Rozen Maiden doll and the older twin of Souseiseki. Both sisters are known as "gardeners" because they can communicate with and care for human "soul trees," accessing these dream worlds through their artificial spirits. Suiseiseki summons her watering can from her spirit to nourish the trees and launch plant-based attacks. She is visually distinct with heterochromatic eyes, green on the left and red on the right, and speaks with a high-pitched voice, frequently ending sentences with "desu." Initially portrayed by Shinku as the most timid and shy sister, and even labeled a crybaby in Ouvertüre, she is easily frightened by strange noises and hides behind her sisters when strangers are around. However, those who know her well witness a devious side. Suiseiseki craves attention and enjoys manic laughter, often smashing Jun’s window, picking on Hinaichigo, and telling tall tales to scare her. She has a short temper and a wild imagination, referring to Hinaichigo as "chibi-chibi" or "chibi-ichigo." Her relationship with Jun is hostile; she refuses to use his name, calling him "runt" or "chibi-ningen" instead. Despite her insults, she cares deeply for him, though she masks her affection with more verbal abuse. In Rozen Maiden träumend, she stands out by valuing her sisters' love over winning the Alice Game, opposing the contest if it requires taking their Rosa Mystica. She and Jun unsuccessfully try to convince the other dolls that the game is meaningless, a plea she repeats to her twin in the OVA. While she tries to avoid the Alice Game, she can still use her watering can to manipulate emerging plants. Her artificial spirit is named after the Anna Sui perfume. Suiseiseki won the Saimoe 2006 contest. Her name translates to "Jade Stone," and her spirit’s name, Sui Dream, references amethyst or jade, though it was localized as "Sweet Dream" in the Tokyopop translation.
