Iron Axe is a warrior of the Sand people, recognized by the name Iron Axe in Graycastle and Kabago in the south. Tall, severe, and taciturn, he is defined by his strength, loyalty, and personal honor. Formerly a member of the Osha Clan, he knew Echo before she ever lived among witches. While his reserve and constant caution make him difficult to approach initially, his hard exterior conceals a nature of dependability, honesty, and a profound sense of duty. His bond with Roland stems from his expertise regarding demonic beasts and hybrids. Having personally slain a demonic beast and fought a hybrid, Iron Axe brings immediate value through his firsthand experience of the southern lands, the Sand people, and the threats emerging from the wastelands.
