Summary
Jōseki serves as a senior figure within Sunagakure, with his primary focus centered on maintaining the village’s peace. He harbored deep reservations regarding Gaara’s ascension to the position of Kazekage, viewing the young leader not as a rightful ruler, but merely as a failed and exceedingly hazardous experiment. Consequently, when Gaara was abducted by the Akatsuki, Jōseki initially speculated that this might actually be a fortunate development and expressed a desire to swiftly select a replacement for the throne.
