Summary
Rouka Numachi served as Suruga Kanbaru’s former basketball rival and self-proclaimed arch-nemesis. While both once shared a deep passion for the sport, with Rouka specializing as a defensive player, a severe leg injury forced her to abandon athletics entirely. This physical setback led to a falling out during middle school, creating a lasting rift between the two girls. Defined by the concept of schadenfreude, Rouka takes pleasure in the misfortunes of others. A self-described collector of bad luck, she offers a non-profit counseling service under the alias "Lord Devil," where she listens to people’s troubles and makes empty promises of assistance. She claims to be able to solve any problem with absolute certainty, turning this exploitative dynamic into a business. In stark contrast to Suruga’s virtuous nature, Rouka’s desire to gather misfortunes stems from malice. Although she may genuinely sympathize with her clients' issues, her actions are driven by self-interest and impartiality. She rationalizes her "evil" deeds as harmless, arguing that they benefit her mental state while allowing customers to resolve their own problems simply by letting time pass. She uses a crutch, a result of her injury, claiming it helps clients open up more easily.
