Known as the Republic of Turkey, this nation’s capital is Ankara and its primary language is Turkish. He celebrates his national birthday on October 29th, and his national flower is the tulip. In human form, he is known as Sadık Adnan, though his specific age and height remain unknown. His name, Sadık, translates to “loyal” in Turkish. Formerly the Ottoman Empire, Turkey is depicted as a passionate, masked elderly man whose geographic classification oscillates between Asia and Europe. He features dark hair with a double-curled ahoge near his neck, reminiscent of Greece, along with gold eyes and olive skin, although the anime adaptation portrays his complexion as fair. In his youth, he harbored ambitions to conquer all of Europe, instilling fear in many other nations. Ironically, he now seeks friendship with those same European countries. His relationship with Greece is historically strained, as Turkey has invaded Greece multiple times in the past. This history has left them unable to stand each other, avoiding even sharing a room. Although a recent cease-fire was established, they are unlikely to ever get along smoothly or stop their competition. Additionally, he once bullied Hungary and attempted to conquer Romano, only to be halted by Spain. Personality-wise, Turkey is merry, lively, loyal, and friendly, yet also stubborn, competitive, and nosy. He enjoys showing off and constantly seeks new ways to stay fashionable and entertain tourists, a pastime he considers a hobby. He is a bit of a gourmet who loves sweet foods and baths, often using excessive sugar in his coffee and carrying apple juice for breaks. He speaks in an Edo dialect and is the only country to recognize the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as an official nation.
