Summary
Ddraig is one of the Two Heavenly Dragons, a Red Dragon Emperor also known as the Welsh Dragon who resides within the Boosted Gear wielded by Issei Hyoudou. Feared by Angels, Fallen Angels, and Devils alike for his destructive capabilities, his power is said to be capable of slaying both Gods and Satans. In ancient times, he engaged in battle against his arch-rival, the Vanishing Dragon Albion. The conflict was halted by the warring factions of Angels, Devils, and Fallen Angels, prompting both Dragons to attack their leaders. This resulted in the destruction of their physical bodies and the sealing of their souls into separate Sacred Gears, with Ddraig being bound to the Boosted Gear. Prior to his sealing, Ddraig and Albion rampaged through the Realm of the Dead, and he also fought Grendel at some point in history. Ddraig first introduces himself to Issei at the beginning of Volume 2. He reappears after Issei’s defeat by Riser Phenex to inform him about the White Dragon Emperor. During Volume 3, Ddraig and Issei develop a teacher-student dynamic, with the Dragon providing advice during battles against Kokabiel and the Khaos Brigade crisis in Volume 4. He also educates Issei on various aspects of the mythological world. As he is sealed within the Boosted Gear, Ddraig has not yet displayed his full personal power or complete array of abilities. It is known that he can multiply and transfer power, possessing standard Dragon abilities, though his true limits remain unknown. When his powers are unsealed, he is stated to possess strength sufficient to rival or defeat a God or Satan.
