Kakizaki, Megu

Summary

Megu is a frail girl with congenital heart disease in the anime adaptation, though the specific ailment remains unspecified in the manga. Serving as the medium for Suigintou, she resides in a hospital room under the constant supervision of nurses. Her outlook on life is profoundly bleak, frequently leading her to pray for an Angel of Death to end her suffering. She views herself as a burden to her parents, claiming they are guilty for bringing her into the world. Initially convinced that Suigintou is the Angel of Death she has been waiting for, she asks the doll to kill her by draining her energy. Although she exhibits apathy and occasional contempt for life, Megu is surprisingly needy and develops a strong desire for Suigintou's company, even throwing tantrums when the doll is absent. Her blatant disrespect toward her father shocks Suigintou, who would never entertain such an attitude toward her own creator. Beyond the original series, Megu appears in Rozen Maiden träumend and makes a brief appearance in Rozen Maiden öuverture.
