Ootsuki-sensei
Summary
Ootsuki-sensei serves as the passionate homeroom teacher for Class 5-1 at Doumori Elementary. Like Nube, he holds a dual role as an exorcist, yet he fundamentally differs in his worldview by attributing all supernatural occurrences to plasma rather than spiritual power. This ideological divide sparks a constant rivalry between the two educators regarding the true nature of the mysteries plaguing the school. The conflict extends to the student body, as pupils in each class clash based on their loyalty to their respective teacher's theories. Utilizing his scientific expertise, Ootsuki-sensei relies on various devices and inventions to investigate and neutralize threats, a methodology reminiscent of the scientific approach seen in Ghostbusters. Despite his prominent appearance early in the series, his presence diminishes significantly as the manga progresses. In the 2025 remake, his name is changed to Terakawa-sensei and he no longer wears glasses.
