Shidou, Irina
Summary
Irina Shidou is a cheerful and devout Christian who formerly served as the Ace of Spades for the Church. Originally a human reincarnated as an Ultimate-Class Angel, she first appeared in Volume 3 as a picture with Issei and later in person alongside Xenovia to retrieve stolen Excaliburs from Kokabiel. Initially harsh toward those opposing her faith, she was devastated by Xenovia’s defection and the revelation of God’s death, subsequently shifting her devotion to Michael. During her infiltration of Kokabiel’s base, she was nearly killed but survived with Asia’s help, returning the Excalibur fragments to the Church while mourning Xenovia’s fall. In combat, Irina utilizes the artificial Holy Sword "Excalibur Mimic," one of the seven Excaliburs, which can morph into various shapes. Although Kokabiel seized this weapon during her debut arc and it was later fused by Valper Galilei, Irina adapted by wielding light-based weaponry such as swords, bows, and arrows. As an Angel, she further enhanced her capabilities by using a prototype Holy Demonic Sword derived from the peace treaty sword Yuuto gave Michael. This weapon allows her to channel various elemental attributes, including fire, ice, and lightning, making her a formidable fighter despite her former reliance on the Mimic.
