Summary
Nagisa is a volatile woman who conducts experiments to create humans immune to physical pain. Despite her youthful appearance, she is actually over thirty years old, though her background and affiliations remain unknown. She had a sister, but her current status is unconfirmed. Nagisa created Youji based on her younger sister, possibly to honor her memory or soothe her own emotional pain, though her precise motives are unclear. Her eccentric behavior and strange lifestyle have left her isolated, and she shamefully admits that Nana is her only friend. Her dynamic with Ritsu is complex; while she feigns deep hatred and wishes for his failure, she blushes whenever he touches or approaches her, secretly harboring more intimate feelings that she steadfastly denies. In volumes 3 and 4, she bets that her older Zero pair, Yamato and Koya, can defeat Ritsuka’s Soubi. After they are defeated, her sibling-rivalry-like attitude toward Ritsu persists.
