Summary
Born on October 24, Anko Mitarashi is a 24-year-old Chuunin Examiner and the leader of the Infiltration and Reconnaissance Party. She gained fame as the proctor for the second stage of the Chuunin Selection Exams. Standing at 167cm with a blood type of A, she possesses a physique that belies her fierce nature. Anko was once a student under Orochimaru, where she became one of the first ten subjects to receive the Cursed Seal of Heaven. She was the sole survivor among the ten candidates, proving the seal’s notoriously low one-in-ten survival rate. Although Orochimaru allegedly discarded her, believing she lacked the necessary lust for power and vengeance, Anko later learned in the anime that she was not simply thrown away like trash. Instead, she chose to leave him on her own terms, relieved to discover she had some residual value in his eyes. Personality-wise, Anko is easygoing, tomboyish, playful, and often hyperactive, traits that draw strong similarities to Naruto Uzumaki. Despite these "Naruto-like" habits, she is surprisingly knowledgeable and studious. However, her time with Orochimaru left her with a bloodthirsty streak, evidenced by her habit of licking blood from wounds, such as when she scratched Naruto’s face with a kunai. She is also diligent in her duties, ensuring she maintains basic knowledge of the terrain for her upcoming missions. Her history with Orochimaru is complex. Flashbacks during the Land of Sea arc reveal that she once deeply admired him, viewing him as a role model and aspiring to be like him. After being branded with the Curse Seal, her admiration turned into rage and deep loathing. This trauma drives her current mission: she relentlessly hunts Orochimaru, feeling a duty as his former subordinate to stop him, even if it costs her life.
