Summary
Isao Sonoda, also known by his stage name Misuzu Sonoda, serves as a colleague to Ranka at the okama bar. He owns a pension located in Karuizawa, Nagano, which becomes the summer workplace for Haruhi. Sonoda organizes a competition among the Hosts to determine who is the most refreshing and deserves the opportunity to stay at his establishment. He is ultimately persuaded by Kaoru and Hikaru, who perform a display of brotherly love that secures them a perfect score of 100 refreshing points. While he goes by Misuzu professionally, his true name is Isao. Before his current career, he worked as a banker and developed a passion for creating frilly lolita-style clothing.
