Summary
During the Cell Games, the ZTV broadcaster known as Jimmy Firecracker provided play-by-play commentary. He was portrayed as a highly biased and partisan figure, initially convinced that Mr. Satan was the planet’s most powerful entity. Consequently, he dismissed the Z Fighters, especially Goku, treating them as insignificant even when Goku attempted to warn Mr. Satan about the lethal threat posed by Cell. Despite this prejudice, Firecracker displayed considerable bravery, standing as virtually the only individual courageous enough to report on the tournament despite the severe dangers involved. He even tried to interview Cell directly, retreating only after the android refused to speak. Although he shared the general public’s gullibility, his views seemed to shift post-tournament; he was notably slow to accept Mr. Satan’s claim of defeating Cell alone. In the original Japanese manga and anime, this character is unnamed and referred to simply as the Cell Games Announcer.
