Summary
Operating a pet shop in Chinatown, Count D is a figure shrouded in mystery who deals in rare and enigmatic creatures. He operates under the strict condition that customers must sign a contract before purchasing a pet. Although he insists that the title of Count D belongs solely to his grandfather, who is the true owner, most people refer to him as The Count, Count, or simply D. While the alleged owner is traveling abroad, D manages the establishment, promoting the idea that he sells love, dreams, and hope through a three-term agreement rather than mere animals. Beyond his role as the protagonist of Pet Shop of Horrors, he makes a cameo appearance in volume 4 of Genju no Seiza, another work by Matsuri Akino.
