Summary
Ruth serves as one of the three Space Pirates, a criminal syndicate dedicated to hijacking various transport vessels to steal and resell their cargo. Operating in Earth's orbit, they targeted passing ships before offloading the loot to planetary residents, using delivery trucks adorned with a purple penguin emblem as a deceptive front. Their signature weapon is a harpoon system that launches a computer virus, capable of overriding and destabilizing a ship's control systems. This technology was deployed against Faye, Jet, and Ed, successfully compromising the Bebop, the Hammerhead, and the Redtail, with the virus even infiltrating Ed's defenses. To overcome this threat, Spike was forced to disconnect his ship from its automated systems and pilot the Bebop entirely by hand.
