Summary
Kirishima, known as Miyamoto in the English dub, along with Okubo and Sawamura (Komada in the English dub), serves as one of Kazuma Kuwabara’s loyal subordinates. Okubo is particularly notable for taking on a job to support his household, which struggles financially because his mother is frequently ill and unable to contribute sufficient income. The trio accompanies Kuwabara to the Megallica concert during the Chapter Black Saga. On their journey home, they are ambushed by Kiyoshi Mitarai, also known as Seaman, and nearly drown inside one of his water-based creatures before Kuwabara rescues them. Following the incident, Kuwabara carries all three boys, along with the defeated Mitarai, on his back to Yusuke Urameshi’s apartment, where he eventually collapses. Once Kirishima, Okubo, and Sawamura explain the events to Kurama, the latter erases their memories of the encounter to spare them the burden of the experience and sends them home. In the initial character popularity poll, Kirishima secured the ninth position with 219 votes.
