Summary
In the alternate universe of Steel Ball Run, the seventh part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, the character known as Diego Brando serves as the counterpart to Dio. He is widely recognized by his nickname Dio among other characters. Resembling the original Dio in both appearance and demeanor, Diego is a renowned professional jockey from England who competes in the cross-country Steel Ball Run race. His early life was spent among homeless communities after his mother rescued him from drowning as an infant. His status changed when his exceptional riding skills were noticed, leading to his adoption into nobility. Despite being raised with affection, Diego remains cold-hearted and ruthless, willing to do almost anything to secure victory. Following his defeat in the first stage of the race by Gyro Zeppeli, he becomes enraged and views Gyro as a personal rival.
