Summary
Masachika Kuze is the sleepy male protagonist of the series, known for his lack of motivation in class and a habit of staying up late. He holds the coveted seat next to Alisa in high school, a position envied by many. Although he pretends not to understand Alisa’s Russian remarks, he actually comprehends them due to his paternal grandfather’s love for Russia and his own television viewing habits. Originally the heir to the Suou family, Masachika renounced his position and left the estate with his father, allowing his younger sister Yuki to inherit. He was permitted to leave only on the condition that he never reveal his connection to the household or his relatives, including his mother and biological sister, Yuki Suou. He harbors a secret crush on Alisa and is always eager to help her, though he deems himself unworthy and assumes her flirting is merely teasing. Before his surname was Kuze, he was considered the Suou house prodigy and received elite education from his maternal grandfather, Gensei. However, stress from Yuki’s asthma and his mother Yumi’s neglect caused him to collapse. Following his parents' divorce, he left the Suou family with his father, Kyoutarou. He feels deep regret and unmotivation, believing he abandoned Yuki. Despite this, he loves Yuki dearly, treating her as the most important person in existence. Currently, he serves as the Student Council General Affairs Officer and is running for Vice-President in the upcoming election, with Alisa serving as President.
