Summary
Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky IV, known by the self-invented alias Radical Edward, is an elite net-diver and hacker from Earth. This thirteen-year-old girl is described as androgynous with a feral demeanor, characterized by her bare feet, strange postures, and gangling walk. Often regarded as a free spirit, she relies on silly exclamations, childish rhymes, and frequent distractions, serving as the primary source of physical humor in the series. She rarely walks, preferring to run, crawl, flip, or balance on her hands, and remains permanently barefoot despite once attempting to wear socks, which she quickly discarded as they hindered her movement. Her physical capabilities are exceptional, allowing her to support her weight on her arms for extended periods and even scratch her nose with her toe. In the English adaptation, she habitually refers to herself in the third person. Little is known about her background, other than time spent in an orphanage after being abandoned by her father, Afedersiniz Hesap Lütfen, who calls her Françoise and appears to be of Turkish origin. The manga reveals she was friends with a timid boy named Tomato, who shared her computer expertise and whose name is scrawled on her PC. As the Bebop crew’s hacker, she is a whiz kid who carries a Tomato desktop computer, balancing it on her head when traveling on foot. She shares a strong rapport with Jet, who serves as a surrogate father, and Faye, who acts as an older sister, much to Faye’s annoyance. Additionally, Ed appears to be the only person capable of fully understanding Ein, although Jet occasionally understands the dog as well.
