Summary
Chimney is the energetic granddaughter of Sea Train conductor Kokoro and the owner of Gonbe, a rabbit who believes he is a cat. She forms an instant bond with the Straw Hat Pirates upon meeting them outside of Water Seven, where Franky nicknames her "shrimp." She possesses a keen eye for detail, often spotting things others miss, such as locating Luffy wedged between two buildings after Rob Lucci knocked him out of Galley-La Corporation Headquarters, or discovering secret passageways within the Tower of Justice at Enies Lobby. She and Gonbe subsequently sneak aboard the prototype Sea Train, Rocketman, joining the Straw Hats, the Franky Family, and Galley-La foremen on their mission to Enies Lobby. There, she assists Luffy in finding the hidden route taken by Spandam, Lucci, and Robin to reach the Gate of Justice. Given that Kokoro is a mermaid, it is possible that Chimney has latent mermaid abilities, though she lacks visible mermaid traits. Despite this, she demonstrated exceptional strength by rescuing Luffy, who is three times her size, from drowning off-screen while resisting powerful currents generated by the whirlpools near the Gate of Justice. Currently residing in Water Seven, author Oda confirmed in the Volume 45 SBS that Chimney is one-quarter mermaid, explaining her abnormally strong swimming skills.
