Summary
Simca is introduced as a part-time employee at Mamurasaki Sports, a job she leaves to focus on her team, a detail omitted from the anime adaptation. Her primary goal is to collect all the Kings and their Regalia to conquer the Trophaeum tower and obtain the Sky Regalia. She harbors a romantic interest in Ikki, whom she believes is destined to become the legendary Sky King and who has idolized her since seeing her ride an AT through his neighborhood. Despite objections, she persuades Ikki to lead Genesis after Kogarasumaru defeats Behemoth, a move that incurs the wrath of the new Sleeping Forest team led by Ringo. Simca is unreserved in her affection for Ikki, allowing him physical contact such as groping her breasts, though Ringo typically intervenes to keep her from going too far. Ikki appears to have feelings for her as well. Following Behemoth’s defeat, her personality shifts dramatically, a change noted by Spitfire. In later chapters, Simca cuts her hair short and loses her former carefree 'Migratory Bird' demeanor, becoming particularly intense regarding Ikki. She repeatedly urges Ikki to officially sign on as Genesis's head, but he refuses and even calls her an 'enemy,' causing her to cry moments before she is attacked. Simca later appears on Nike’s ship, where he aggressively assaults her sexually. She complies with his advances but subsequently prays for Kogarasumaru’s safety. She meets with Ringo and Kururu to provide a way for Ikki to enter the gram scale tournament after their disqualification. Ikki asks her out on a 'date' to take place where they first discovered ATs, during which she seems to hope for a kiss. After rejoining Nike and Sora, she tearfully expresses her admiration for him, citing his moments of strength as the reason for her affection. As a first-generation Gravity Child alongside Spitfire, Kilik, and Sora, she is also Kilik’s twin sister. Volume 3 extras reveal an earlier character design featuring a tank top, long arm gloves, pants, and different goggles.
