Summary
Bansai is an elder ninja monk residing in the Fire Temple and stands as one of the sole three survivors from the devastating Akatsuki assault on the temple. When Asuma Sarutobi and his team visited the temple to seek intelligence regarding the Akatsuki, Bansai offered a prayer out of concern for their safety. This act induced a trance-like state in Asuma, allowing him to encounter the spirit of his deceased comrade, Chiriku. Bansai is currently living in retirement.
