Ran is a nine-tailed fox youkai who serves as the shikigami of Yukari Yakumo. Despite her master handling many duties, Ran is immensely powerful on her own, possessing enough strength to maintain her own shikigami, Chen. She also takes charge of managing affairs while Yukari sleeps for twelve hours each day. The names of her family members are all derived from colors, with Yakumo translating to "eight clouds" and Ran meaning "indigo."
