Summary
Sandman belongs to a Native American tribe but was recently ostracized for embracing white man's culture. He enters the Steel Ball Run race hoping to use the prize money to buy back his ancestors' land and protect his tribe. He quickly establishes himself as one of the fiercest and most unique competitors in the race by choosing to travel completely on foot.
