Summary
Misaki Ayuzawa is the central protagonist of Kaichou wa Maid-sama! residing at home with her mother and younger sister Suzuna after their father abandoned them and left behind a massive debt. This betrayal has instilled in her a profound distrust of most boys, though she makes an exception for those who display gentlemanly behavior. A skilled practitioner of Aikido, she attends Seika High School, an institution that recently transitioned from an all-boys establishment to a co-ed one, resulting in a student population that is eighty percent male and twenty percent female. Misaki worked diligently to secure the position of student council president with the primary goal of protecting the female students at the school. However, she harbors a closely guarded secret: to help her mother pay off their financial burdens, she works part-time at a maid cafe.
