Summary
Known as Saki Shibayama, Kamui serves as a System Debugger for CC Corp and leads the Cobalt Knights. During the events of .Hack//AI Buster, it is revealed that she was once quite clumsy and deliberately designed her avatar to resemble Albireo, a former leader she viewed as a mentor. Albireo, who was unaware of his influence, inadvertently instilled in her a profound need to maintain order within The World. This obsession explains her physical appearance, which features black hair and mismatched gold and blue eyes similar to Albireo’s, as well as her wielding a replica of the Spear of Wotan in the novels and manga. Unlike the Crimson Knights, who primarily deal with players, the Cobalt Knights focus on hunting down and deleting Vagrant AIs. Kamui enforces the laws with rigid severity, treating minor infractions with the same gravity as major crimes. Her dedication is such that she tracked down a subordinate simply to discover they had been hiding a Vagrant AI from her after she questioned their actions. In the anime adaptation, she is depicted as executing individuals publicly for even the slightest violation of the law.
