Summary
Grampa Theo is an elderly puppeteer who once traveled throughout Italy alongside his son, Leon, and his granddaughter, Nana. Tensions rose between Theo and Leon over the younger man’s ambition to become a doctor, as Theo insisted Leon should inherit his puppet shows instead. Leon, having no desire to follow in his father’s footsteps, firmly rejected this expectation. The strain on their relationship intensified when Nana, then an infant, fell gravely ill. Although she eventually recovered, the incident fueled the ongoing conflict, ultimately leading Leon to abandon his family. Years later, Theo and a slightly older Nana relocated near the Rossi family’s home in Milan, driven by rumors that Leon had arrived in the city. Acting on Angeletta’s request, Romeo, with assistance from Professor Casella, located Leon, who was now practicing as a physician for underprivileged children. This discovery facilitated a heartfelt reunion between Theo, Nana, and Dr. Leon, allowing the estranged father and son to finally reconcile.
