Summary
Nao Kadena serves as the attractive school nurse at Tsujikou, having taken over the position from the absent Nanno. A former member of a car club and a skilled street racer, she leverages her beauty to motivate her male students to study harder while enticing the female students with prospects of dating attractive university men. She harbors deep guilt over her younger brother Kazuhito falling into a coma following a car crash during a race against her. Her somber mood is lifted when Onizuka challenges her to a race, demonstrating that driving can be enjoyable without being excessively reckless. Although she attempts to help set up Shinomi with Eikichi, the arrangement does not proceed as planned. In the anime adaptation of Great Teacher Onizuka, the role of the school nurse is voiced by Naoko Moritaka, replacing the character portrayed by Moritaka in the original manga. Kadena’s abilities and backstory closely mirror her counterpart in Shonan Junai Gumi, although she was introduced to the existing cast as a new acquaintance. Subsequent plot points in the anime were adapted from Moritaka’s actions in the manga.
