Sailor Heavy Metal Papillon

Summary

Sailor Heavy Metal Papillon is the fifth and final member of the Sailor Animamates to make an appearance. Her name includes the French term for butterfly, pronounced papiyon, reflecting the Japanese cultural belief that butterflies symbolize the soul. Notably, the word "Heavy" is excluded from her name in the Materials Collection artbook. She is exclusive to Act 49 of the manga and does not appear in the anime adaptation. Originating from the planet Cocoon, she is presumed to have murdered Sailor Cocoon to earn Galaxia's favor, consistent with the lore of her fellow Animamates. The Materials Collection indicates she wields fire-based powers and utilizes an unnamed attack called "Galactica Scales." She is also characterized as a parent, a samba dancer, and a figure with high sex appeal. Serving as the de facto leader of the Animamates, she is known as the "soul hunter." She protects a graveyard located in the center of the galaxy, which is surrounded by butterflies representing the remnants of dead Sailor Senshi whose crystals were stolen. Her duty is to prevent these spirits from escaping. She presents Eternal Sailor Moon, Sailor Kakyuu, and Chibichibi with graves dug for them, binds them with vines, and intends to burn them alive. The trio is rescued by the arrival of Sailor Chibi Moon and the Sailor Quartet, who shatter the vines using their combined technique, "Pink Ladies' Freezing Kiss." Ultimately, the Sailor Quartet defeats Sailor Heavy Metal Papillon with their group attack, "Amazoness Jungle Arrow."
