Summary
Kumashi serves as Perona’s devoted pet and attendant, making his debut during the Thriller Bark arc. Ten years before the main events, after Hogback encountered Perona, he constructed a zombie modeled after her teddy bear at her specific request. By imbuing this creation with a human shadow, Hogback brought Kumashi to life. Although Perona considers him adorable, she finds his vocalizations unpleasant and frequently silences him whenever he attempts to talk, a detail the anime emphasizes by giving him a notably grating voice.
