Hailing from Shimonoseki, Ogawa Heizo once served as a swordsman before turning to the trade of selling toad oil to make a living. He assumes the identity of Himura Battousai, a figure celebrated as a local hero in his hometown, which was formerly known as Choshu Prefecture.
