Summary
Masao Kobayashi is a boy who has just finished elementary school and has entered the workforce as a milkman. He witnessed the newsman being thrown off the bridge where Ichikawa died, but he remained silent when questioned by the police. His inaction helped the authorities conclude that Ichikawa had committed suicide. This lie ultimately led to his downfall, as he became a victim of the bakeneko, which trapped him inside the first car of the subway during the station's opening ceremony.
