Summary
Eight years before the events of Pluto unfold, Brau-1589 becomes the first robot to kill a human. Naoki Urasawa designed the robot’s limbs with a resemblance to the collapsible arms and legs featured in the Blue Knight or Blue Bon from Tezuka’s Tetsuwan Atom. Blue Bon was a robot driven by hatred who violated robot law by killing humans, ultimately meeting a premature end when he was pierced through the chest by his own spear. The name Brau likely references the German word blau, meaning blue.
