Summary
Originally the bassist for Blast, Ren serves as the guitarist for Trapnest, a role that has made him immensely popular with fans who deeply appreciate his music. His past includes a romantic relationship with Nana Osaki, which is marked by significant symbolism; he wears a "Sid Vicious" padlock gifted by Nana and contributed to a Sex Pistols tribute album, reflecting his admiration for the band. In return, Nana tattooed a lotus on her upper arm, honoring his name, which translates to lotus in Japanese. He also originally smoked Seven Stars cigarettes. Their first meeting was facilitated by Nobu, who admired Ren from a distance. Ren is well-known in their hometown for the legend that he was found as an infant in an abandoned warehouse, a fact about his origins he embraces and even boasts about, continuing to live in that same location. While Ren and Nana share many similarities, their personalities diverge in key areas. Ren is far more open about his feelings, daring to ask Nana to remarry him, whereas such thoughts only irritate her. Additionally, Ren desires a family and children, a concept that repulses Nana, who rejects the traditional role of a dependent wife who spends her days making miso soup.
