Summary
As the commander of the demon army and a former demon lord, Hadlar was initially killed by Avan and his companions. He was later resurrected by a more powerful demon lord, Vearn, who appointed him to lead the troops. While his initial motivation was solely to settle scores with Avan, his focus shifted to Dai after a first battle where he was severely injured by the novice warrior. Vearn granted Hadlar the ability to return with a stronger body upon death, but this power came with a dark mark on his face that expanded with each resurrection. This curse was beyond his control, forcing him to serve Vearn eternally without even the right to die. Although he initially feared and hated Dai for jeopardizing his position, Hadlar eventually recognized his past folly. He came to view Dai as a worthy rival and an individual deserving of his utmost respect.
