Summary
Kouji serves as a bandit of Mount Reikaku, eventually assuming the role of leader while Tasuki travels with Miaka. Although he knew Tasuki since childhood and initially harbored dislike for him upon his arrival, the two grew close, leading Kouji to begrudgingly acknowledge his respect for the younger boy. Despite being two years older and holding greater seniority among the group, Tasuki’s status as a Suzaku Celestial Warrior ensured he remained the true leader. Kouji distinguishes himself with a charming demeanor when knocking on or answering doors. He is the only Mount Reikaku Bandit who does not harbor romantic or lustful desires toward Miaka, Nuriko, or Hotohori. During the conflict between Kutou and Kou Nan, Kouji and his men pledged their assistance to Kou Nan by agreeing to fight. Following the restoration of peace, Tasuki returned to Mount Reikaku to resume his leadership position, though it is widely accepted that the pair shares the responsibility.
